Responsibilities, delivery work and technical investigations from my enterprise roles.
These project summaries draw on the project records I have retained. They highlight selected responsibilities and contributions, rather than the full scope of my work on each engagement.
Azure/AKS support and delivery migration
I supported Azure/AKS environments and development teams, and was the main engineer for the environment migration and Bamboo-to-GitLab CI/CD rebuild. Another DevOps engineer contributed under my guidance. The migration was completed following configuration and validation.
CMS consulting and operational inspections
I carried out two system inspections and helped the team look into two specific CMS issues. My supporting material covered Drupal operating questions and practical guidance for maintaining the environment.
GitOps delivery and AWS/EKS platform support
I supported AWS/EKS infrastructure, provisioned resources with Terraform and worked with the existing Argo CD and GitHub Actions GitOps setup. My Terraform work included modules intended to support disaster recovery.
AWS platform support and Terraform refactoring
I worked in an SRE role supporting Authority Brands’ AWS platform, refactoring Terraform modules and building service modules for a recovery environment. Together with a colleague, I assessed platform risks and prioritised operational improvements.
DevOps consulting and delivery improvement
I analysed delivery problems raised by the bank and provided recommendations and solution options. The work covered deployment standardisation, useful delivery measures, database changes across parallel releases and traffic-switching approaches.
Secrets management and CI/CD on OpenShift
I migrated gopass credentials to HA Vault on OpenShift, reducing password synchronisation from over an hour to seconds for more than 200 users. I also implemented GoCD Pipeline-as-Code with Nexus-based container management and supported service migrations, platform operations and handover.
Container platform consulting and business analysis
As a Container Platform Consultant and DevOps Lead, I contributed Kubernetes and OpenShift expertise to platform design and delivery, standardised deployment pipelines and shared technical practices with development teams. My responsibilities also included application networking, business analysis for operations systems, and project and team coordination.
AWS pipeline for the platform
I built a pipeline for the platform using AWS CodePipeline, following the client’s requirements.
Application monitoring and alert delivery
I developed a monitoring system connecting Graylog log alerts, Alertmanager and Slack. The system provided alert context and silence controls, alongside scheduled homepage checks with reports sent to Slack.
